An Order scholarship

Fjela plans before the shooting starts and keeps the promises she makes. The Order once gave her a future. Its refusal to let her leave taught her to examine the terms much more carefully.

A debt with no ending

Raised by her mother, Fjela received an education her family could not have afforded through an Order scholarship. She accepted the service it required and became a talented soldier. After losing an eye on a mission, she received a combat implant that made her an extraordinary marksman. When her agreed service ended, the Order decided she was too useful to release.

Her own decision

After escaping with Mave and Sabrina, Fjela asked Sabrina to remove the implant. She wanted neither the Order’s instrument inside her body nor the risk that it might lead them to the fugitives. The eye could not be restored. She chose the patch—and the right to decide for herself.

Quiet does not mean distant

Fjela was shy long before the Order. Routes, firing positions, and practical actions are easier for her than declarations of feeling. She enjoys rifles, thoughtful games, and tea while watching the space rain. Trust is something she shows by covering your position and keeping her word.
